Metal mugs are far better than plastic mugs. Metals can keep your beverages in the right temperature for a long time and they will be fresh for hours together. But plastic ones might release a bad odor and they cannot retain the temperature. Also look at the size of a travel mug. Do not buy small ones which can accommodate only a few drops of the liquids you are carrying. They should be big enough and provide you the necessary amount of liquids while you are traveling.
